SHARING ENERGY WITH THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST
Robin Powerhood was created to address a growing imbalance in the energy system: while many households struggle with rising energy costs, others generate more electricity than they consume. Established as an Austria-wide energy community, the project enables individuals and companies to donate surplus electricity to households experiencing energy poverty. Through partnerships with social organisations, donated energy also supports mother-child houses, emergency shelters, day centres, and other facilities serving vulnerable groups.
TURNING SURPLUS POWER INTO SOCIAL SUPPORT
The project introduces a new way of redistributing energy by directly linking energy producers with households and organisations in need. Rather than relying on traditional market mechanisms, Robin Powerhood transforms unused renewable electricity into a tool for social solidarity. This approach creates a simple and tangible way for citizens and businesses to contribute to the energy transition while helping ensure access to an essential service for those most affected by rising energy costs.
BUILDING A COMMUNITY AGAINST ENERGY POVERTY
Robin Powerhood provides a sustainable and scalable framework for energy sharing that delivers measurable social benefits. By offering continuous support to low-income households and charitable organisations, the project helps reduce energy poverty and strengthen community wellbeing. A public dashboard makes the impact transparent and encourages wider participation, helping to expand a growing network of donors and partners. In doing so, the initiative demonstrates how renewable energy can also become a driver of social inclusion and solidarity.
